Alvin Smith Identified in Fatal Semi-Truck Accident in Ector County

 
ECTOR COUNTY, TX (January 20, 2023) – Officials identified 38-year-old Alvin Earl Smith of Nacogdoches as the victim who died in a car accident with a semi-truck on Highway 302 on January 14.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened just after midnight. Based on a report, Smith was driving a 2007 Lincoln MKZ west on the highway prior to the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he veered into oncoming traffic and hit a semi-truck in the eastbound lane.
 
As a result, he suffered grave injuries in the accident. Paramedics transported him to Medical Center Hospital, where he later died.
 
The driver of the semi was not injured.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. No other details are available.
