Jessica Saitta Faces DUI Charges after Running Red Light, Killing Bicyclist in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 20, 2023) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police arrested 35-year-old Jessica Saitta of Las Vegas after a fatal bicycle accident on East Sahara Avenue on January 17.
 
According to the Nevada State Police, the collision happened at Commercial Center Drive. Based on a report, a bicyclist was riding northbound on Commercial Center Drive at the time of the crash.
 
At the same time, Saitta was driving a Nissan Versa traveling eastbound on Sahara Avenue. Due to unknown reasons, Saitta ran a red light and collided with the victim.
 
As a result, the bicyclist died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Police arrested Saitta after she showed signs of impairment.
 
At this point, officers continue to investigate the case. No other information is known at this time.
