Caleb Swafford Identified in Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Houston

 
HOUSTON, TX (January 12, 2023) – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office identified Caleb Swafford as the victim who died in a pedestrian accident on Aldine Bender Road on January 5.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Picton Drive. Based on a report, a Houston Police Department officer was traveling in the westbound middle lane of Aldine Bender Road when he struck Swafford.
 
The officer was responding to a non-urgent call, so he was not using his lights and sirens in an area that was not well-lit.
 
As a result, Swafford died in the incident despite life-saving measures.
 
Investigators do not believe speed was a factor.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
