Alfredo Guzman Detained after Arlington Hit-and-Run on 20 Freeway
ARLINGTON, TX (January 12, 2023) – Arlington Police officers arrested 32-year-old Alfredo Guzman following a hit-and-run on 20 Freeway on January 4.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Matlock Road at approximately 6:35 AM.
Based on a report, an officer was working to clear a crash on the eastbound side of the freeway prior to the crash. At the same time, Guzman was trying to get around the backup. Subsequently, Guzman struck the officer and fled the scene.
As a result, the officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital for treatment.
Police said an off-duty officer from Dublin happened to see the incident followed the driver and pulled him over. Arlington officers arrived a short time later and took Guzman into custody with failure to stop and render aid/bodily injury charges.
