Fatal Palm Desert Car Crash; Elena Morron, Abel Alvarado, and Yolanda Alvarado Identified

 
PALM DESERT, CA (January 6, 2023) – A car crash on Fred Waring Drive near Adonis Drive killed Elena Morron, Abel Alvarado, and Yolanda Alvarado on December 29.

The Riverside County Fire Department confirmed that a fatal car crash happened around 7:15 p.m.

According to reports, 24-year-old Ricardo Meza of Palm Desert was speeding westbound in a 2021 Honda Accord on Fred Waring Drive. He later crashed into a 2015 Nissan Sentra that was about to make a left turn onto Adonis Drive.

Police confirmed that 84-year-old Morron of Los Angeles, 69-year-old Abel Alvarado, and 65-year-old Yolanda Alvarado of Anza were in the Nissan.

All three of the victims died at the scene.

Responders transported Meza to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

There is no confirmation yet whether drugs and alcohol played a role. However, authorities will continue the investigation.
