Motorcyclist Dies in Lancaster DUI Crash on Avenue I and 13th Street

 
LANCASTER, CA (December 5, 2022) – A motorcyclist died in a suspected DUI crash on Avenue I and 13th Street at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.

According to the investigation of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. An eastbound BMW sedan was driving on Avenue I when it made a left turn on 13th Street.

As a result, it traveled directly into the path of the westbound motorcyclist that was also on Avenue I.

Responders transported the motorcyclist to a hospital, where the victim died.

The driver of the BMW immediately left the scene on foot after the accident. The suspect left his vehicle locked and officers had to break the window to check inside. He was later arrested after being found hiding in nearby bushes.

According to reports, the suspect will face charges of suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, felony hit-and-run, and DUI causing bodily injury.
