7-Year-Old Killed in Thurston County Car Crash on Highway 510

 
THURSTON COUNTY, WA (October 25, 2022) – Police confirmed that a child died in a crash on Highway 510 on October 20.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Peter Kalama Drive Southeast at about 7:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, the crash involved two cars. The first car was traveling eastbound on the highway prior to the crash. Due to unknown reasons, it lost control and crashed into an SUV in the westbound lanes.
 
As a result, a 7-year-old passenger in the car died at the hospital. First responders with the Lacey Fire District officials did not yet release the name of the victim.
 
The driver of the car, a 27-year-old woman, suffered injuries. The driver and two passengers in the SUV were also hurt in the incident.
 
Officers said the car driver is facing charges of driving under the influence and vehicular homicide. At this point, the WSP is investigating the collision.
