HOUSTON, TX (October 7, 2022)Pedro Alberto Hernandez is facing charges for running over and killing a child on Leawood Boulevard near Bissonnet Street on October 1.

The Houston Police Department received a report at about 6:00 p.m. regarding a DUI accident in front of a laundromat in the 9700 block of Leawood Boulevard near Elmcroft.

According to the court documents, the 6-year-old boy was walking across the parking lot with his grandfather when 52-year-old Hernandez hit the child. The grandfather yelled at Hernandez, who drove back and forth, hitting the child three times. Reports also said that Hernandez stopped once while the wheel was on the child.
