Pedestrian Chung Thu Le Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Car in Walnut Creek

 
WALNUT CREEK, CA (October 7, 2022) –  Hit-and-run crash on Civic Drive and California Boulevard killed Chung Thu Le on October 1.

The Walnut Creek Police responded to a hit-and-run crash around 7:15 p.m. on Saturday after multiple calls from witnesses.

According to reports, Chung was crossing north California Boulevard when the vehicle struck her.

The pedestrian sustained critical injuries due to the impact of the crash, according to Lt. Jeff Slater of Walnut Creek Police. Responders transported her to the hospital where she later died, Slater said.

The driver of the sedan did not render help and fled the scene. However, the witnesses gave a tip about the involved vehicle being a 4-door sedan that was either tan or gold in color.

The roads were shut down and reopened at around 10:15 p.m. for public use.
