One Person Dies, Four Others Hurt After Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 29

 
NAPA, CA (August 19, 2022) — A person died while four other people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 29 late Saturday, August 13.

According to the Napa Police news release, the fatal collision occurred just north of Napa River Bridge (now known as the George F. Butler Memorial Bridge) at 11:30 p.m.

Authorities said an apparent wrong-way driver was traveled southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 29. As a result, it collided into four vehicles.

The California Highway Patrol officers responded to the crash site and pronounced one driver dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased remains undisclosed.

Two other drivers and two passengers sustained injuries and were transported to hospitals, which included the Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center.

The details leading up to the crash and the factors surrounding remain unavailable at this time as investigation continues.
