One Killed, Three Children Injured in Rollover Crash on North Pacific Avenue in Kelso
KELSO, WA (October 22, 2024) – Authorities confirmed that one person died in a rollover crash on North Pacific Avenue on October 6.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Ostrander Avenue just before 11:00 AM. Based on a report, the victim was riding a car when it rolled down at least 15 feet down an embankment and 50 feet off the road.
One of the passengers exited the car, climbed the embankment, and flagged down a passing driver who called 911. Fire crews used hydraulic extrication tools to cut two people out of the car.
As a result, one of the occupants, an adult man, died at the scene. Authorities did not release his name, but it is pending kin notification.
Two children, ages 2 and 7, were taken to a hospital in Longview with minor injuries. Air ambulance services took a 9-year-old to Oregon Health & Science University in Portland for multiple injuries.
Fire officials are not sure what caused the accident.
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
