Male Juvenile Killed in Pahrump Accident on Highway 160 and Homestead Road
PAHRUMP, NV (March 11, 2024) — A young boy suffered fatal injuries in a car crash on Highway 160 on Friday, February 23.
Nevada State Police said troopers responded to the intersection of Highway 160 and Homestead Road at about 8:11 p.m.
According to the investigation, a black 2014 Dodge Journey traveled eastbound on Homestead Road. Then it tried to turn left onto Highway 160 with a green light. Then a Chevy Tahoe entered the intersection.
Police said the Chevy Tahoe failed to obey a red traffic light while entering the intersection. It resulted in its front striking the Dodge Journey’s left side.
Paramedics rushed the passenger of the Dodge, a juvenile from Pahrump, Nevada, to an area hospital. Then he succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash and medical officers pronounced him dead.
Police did not provide further information if speed or impairment played a role in the incident. There were no reports of other injuries.
