Garbage Truck Involved in Fatal Accident on Road 25 in Mattawa

 
MATTAWA, WA (March 11, 2024) – Officials confirmed that three people died in a garbage truck accident on Road 25 Southwest on February 29.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Road R-Southwest at approximately 6:00 AM. Based on a report, a garbage truck and a Ford F-150 collided. Deputies with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of the pickup was at fault.
 
As a result, three people in the pickup suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victims’ identities, pending kin notification.
 
A fourth occupant of the pickup suffered injuries. Crews transported the victim to the hospital for treatment. The garbage truck driver also sustained minor injuries.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
