Ronald Young Dies after Yakima Car Crash

 
YAKIMA, WA (March 14, 2024) — A 75-year-old man identified as Ronald G. Young, of Yakima, died in a two-car crash on Friday, March 1.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash took place on Highway 12 and Mapleway Road at 12:40 p.m.
 
WSP said Young was stopped at a stop sign in a Hyundai Tucson at Mapleway Road and Highway 12. At the same time, a Jeep Wrangler driven by 35-year-old Karina Sandoval, of Yakima, moved west on Highway 12.
 
Then Young failed to yield the right of way. The Jeep struck his vehicle, WSP said.
 
Paramedics rushed them both to Multicare Yakima Memorial Hospital, where Young later died.
 
WSP said both drivers wore seat belts.
