James Walker, Gene Walker Jr. Killed in Laredo Small Plane Accident

 
LAREDO, TX (February 2, 2024) — Two men, 63-year-old James Patrick Walker and 66-year-old Gene Simeon Walker Jr. died in a small plane crash on Monday, January 29.
 
The incident occurred at about 2:40 p.m. off Highway 59 near Ranchitos Las Lomas, about 2 to 3 miles south of the entrance of Walker Ranch.
 
The Webb County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene just after 3 p.m. Monday. They recovered the victim’s bodies just before 7:00 p.m.
 
The Federal Aviation Administration said that the experimental Air Cam airplane struck high-tension wires. Then the small plane crashed, ending up inverted.
 
National Transportation Safety Board investigators will gather pieces of evidence from the scene. Then they will examine the aircraft, which will be transferred to a secure facility for further investigation.
 
Officials said they will investigate three primary areas: the pilot, the aircraft, and the operating environment.
