Woman Dies in Houston Car Accident on Harwin Drive

 
HOUSTON, TX (January 26, 2024) – A female passenger died after a car accident on Harwin Drive early Sunday morning, January 21.

According to the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, the crash occurred on the 7700 block of Harwin Drive at around 1:35 a.m. It involved a red Toyota Camry, police said.

Police reported that while heading westbound, the Toyota veered off the road and hit a tree. As a result, the impact of the crash caused the female passenger to be ejected from the vehicle.

Medics took the 25-year-old passenger to Ben Taub General Hospital where she later died, police confirmed.

The 28-year-old driver fled the scene on foot, authorities furthered.

Authorities are asking anyone with details on the identity or whereabouts of the driver to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072. Anonymous tips may also be sent to the Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
