San Diego Crash on 15 Freeway, Fatality and Injury Reported

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 26, 2024) – A woman died while a child suffered injuries following a crash on 15 Freeway on Sunday evening, January 21.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened near Gateway around 9:00 p.m.

Initial investigation reported that a turn incorrectly made a turn and went into an embankment along the freeway. After that, the vehicle struck two trees before stopping at the bottom of the embankment.

A woman in her 50s died at the scene, police said.

A child who was with the deceased woman received hospital transportation with life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
