James Anderson Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Rockdale

 
ROCKDALE, TX (December 28, 2023) – The Rockdale Police Department identified 77-year-old James Robert Anderson of Manitoba, Canada who died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 79 on December 13.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 6:30 PM. Based on a report, Anderson was trying to walk across the highway at the time of the crash.
 
He was walking from the Walmart to the Quality Inn Motel when a vehicle hit him.
 
As a result, Anderson suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Officers identified the driver of the vehicle as 21-year-old Ethan Wade Taylor of Rockdale.
 
Police did not release any other information. As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
