Connie Russell Injured in DUI Crash on Highway 27 in Spokane Valley

 
SPOKANE VALLEY, WA (December 28, 2023) – Officials identified 65-year-old Connie Russell who suffered injuries in a crash on Highway 27 on December 17.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near North Pines Road and East Buckeye Avenue. Based on a report, 46-year-old Oleg Dyfort was traveling north on the highway when he crossed the center line and hit Russell’s vehicle head-on.
 
As a result, Russell sustained injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported her to the hospital for treatment.
 
Both vehicles were also totaled in the incident.
 
WSP determined Dyfort to be driving under the influence and charged him with vehicular assault.
