SEATTLE, WA (May 15, 2023) – Officers confirmed that a Vespa scooter rider died in an accident on Highway 99 on May 11.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at the off-ramp to West Marginal Way around 1:00 PM. Based on a report, the victim’s Vespa collided with a U-Haul truck.
 
As a result, the 67-year-old rider suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
The WSP determined that speed was the contributing factor to the crash.
 
At this point, an investigation into the accident is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
