WICHITA COUNTY, TX (May 15, 2023) – Officials confirmed that two people died in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 287 on May 12.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened between FM 369 and Rifle Range Road shortly after 2:00 AM. Based on a report, six vehicles collided in the lanes.
 
As a result, officials said that two suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. They did not yet release the victims’ names, pending kin notification.
 
Emergency crews transported several people to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
 
DPS also asked motorists to avoid the area and use caution while driving around traffic control vehicles and emergency services.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
