Rachael Nuskind Killed, Adriana Samarron and Santiago Samarron Injured in Accident on Highway 114 Rachael Nuskind Identified in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash in Smyer SMYER, TX (January 9, 2024) - The Hockley County Sheriff's Office identified 32-year-old Rachael Leigh Nuskind of Smyer who died in a crash on Highway 114 on January 2. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at FM 168 around 11:40 AM. Based on a report, Nuskind was driving a 2022 Kia Soul north on FM 168 before the crash. At the same time, 68-year-old Santiago Samarron of Levelland was driving a 2011 Dodge Ram east on Highway 114. Due to unknown reasons, Nuskind failed to yield the right of way and collided with the Dodge. As a result, Nuskind suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Samarron was treated at the scene. His passenger, 64-year-old Adriana Samarron of Levelland, suffered serious injuries in the crash. Crews transported her to Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock for treatment.
