According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Battery Street. Based on a report, 31-year-old Adam Abelson was driving a red Saturn at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, the suspect sped through that red light, clipped a vehicle, and rammed into a King County Metro bus. The bus then slammed into a building and hit Schneider. A Tesla dashcam captured the aftermath of people running for their lives and glass exploding everywhere. As a result, Schneider suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Crews on the scene found a pipe, lighter, and aluminum foil in the front seat of Abelson’s vehicle. Officers arrested him for DUI with a bail set for $3,000,000. Prosecutors say Abelson has an extensive record. Before the crash, he had five active warrants for his arrests and had been convicted of theft multiple times.
