Zachary Rogers Killed in Car Accident on Highway 158 and County Road 1150

 
MIDLAND, TX (March 8, 2024) — A 31-year-old man identified as Zachary Rogers, of Tucumcari, New Mexico, died in a car crash on Tuesday, February 26.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal accident took place on Highway 158 and County Road 1150 around 8:12 a.m.
 
Texas DPS said that 36-year-old Cheyenne Lattin of Tucumcari, New Mexico, drove a 2022 Ford F-150. Rogers was in the passenger’s seat.
 
The initial report showed that Lattin failed to yield to the right of way as the F-150 entered the intersection. Then her vehicle crashed with a 2019 Mack dump truck driven by 33-year-old David Thomas of Odessa, Texas.
 
Due to the impact of the crash, Lattin’s vehicle left the roadway and hit a utility pole.
 
Emergency responders pronounced Rogers dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, EMS also transported Lattin to the Midland Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
 
The Mack dump truck driver was not hurt.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
