Trooper Hurt, Driver Arrested after Wrong-Way Crash on 90 Freeway

 
BELLEVUE, WA (February 27, 2025) — A WSP trooper sustained injuries in a wrong-way accident on the 90 Freeway on Thursday, February 20.
 
According to Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred on 90 Freeway near 405 Freeway interchange at around 3:30 a.m.
 
WSP said the wrong-way driver entered from the 405 Freeway interchange in the Factoria neighborhood. Then it headed east in the westbound lanes of the 90 Freeway.
 
After that, the driver continued for approximately three miles. Then the trooper positioned their vehicle in the driver’s path near West Lake Sammamish, resulting in a collision.
 
The trooper and the wrong-way driver both suffered minor injuries in the collision. Authorities arrested the driver on suspicion of impairment at the scene.
 
The crash blocked two westbound lanes of 90 Freeway during investigation. Officials fully reopened the roadway by 5:00 a.m.
