Two Injured in Speeding Accident on Vantage Bridge

VANTAGE, WA (February 27, 2025) — Two people sustained injuries in a speeding accident on Vantage Bridge on Monday, February 24.

The Washington State Patrol said the crash occurred on the Vantage Bridge along the 90 Freeway at around 2:39 p.m.

According to WSP, the collision occurred when an eastbound driver lost control and crashed into a parked patrol vehicle with its emergency lights activated. The trooper had been stationed on the bridge for a Washington State Department of Transportation project at the time.

Both the trooper and the driver sustained minor injuries. Paramedics transported them to the hospital for treatment.

WSP cited the driver for driving too fast for the rainy conditions. They also confirmed that the driver did not wear a seatbelt.

The incident remains under investigation.

Rain, snow, and fog make roads slippery and reduce visibility, increasing crash risks. Adjust your speed, leave an extra space between vehicles, and use headlights when needed. Speeding in bad weather endangers everyone. Drive cautiously and prioritize safety.
