Wrong-Way Driving Leads to Fatal Crash on North Loop Freeway in Houston

 
HOUSTON, TX (November 29, 2022) – Houston Police officers confirmed that a woman died in a wrong-way crash on North Loop Freeway on November 26.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at McCarty Street shortly after 1:30 AM. Based on a report, the woman was going south in the northbound lanes of the road prior to the crash.
 
A constable deputy with Harris County Pct. 3 observed the vehicle and tried to stop it. Subsequently, the woman continued driving the wrong way and hit a Chevy Tahoe.
 
As a result, the woman died in the incident. Officers did not yet release her name, pending kin notification.
 
The other driver was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
 
It is unclear if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash, but an investigation remains underway by the Harris Co. Vehicular Crimes Division. As of now, no other details are available.
