Woman Dies in Hemet Car Crash on Cawston Avenue and Devonshire Avenue

 
HEMET, CA (February 15, 2023) — A woman died while two other people sustained injuries after a crash on Cawston Avenue and Devonshire Avenue on Monday afternoon, February 6.

The fatal incident involved a gray Toyota Prius and a black Ford Escape, according to the Hemet Police which received a call of alert at about 3:41 p.m.

Authorities said the Toyota traveled north in the northbound lanes before shifting into the southbound lanes, where it crashed into the Ford, driven by a man with a female passenger.

The Toyota caught fire as firefighters extinguished the blaze.

Respondents rendered aid and transported all three people involved to a hospital. However, the female passenger of the Ford died.

Investigators are looking into speed as a factor in the collision.
