Woman Fatally Struck in El Paso Pedestrian Accident

 
EL PASO, TX (July 24, 2023) — A woman sustained fatal injuries after a pedestrian accident on West Paisano Drive on Wednesday, July 19.
 
According to El Paso Police, the crash involving a pedestrian took place at the 1200 block of West Paisano Drive, near the train tracks along the border wall.
 
Police said Cadillac and a Nissan Sentra traveled eastbound at Paisano Drive in Central El Paso. Police said the Nissan Sentra traveled behind the Cadillac.
 
While both vehicles traveled east, two pedestrians ran across the roadway. They went in front of the vehicles.
 
According to police, the driver in the Cadillac, a 28-year-old man slowed down to prevent hitting the pedestrian. However, the vehicle hit the young woman with his right-side mirror. This caused her to fall.
 
Police said the other pedestrian continued running north and left behind the young woman.
 
Simultaneously, the driver in the Nissan Sentra, a 24-year-old woman from San Elizario, swerved right to prevent crashing into the Cadillac. However, it ended up colliding with the right corner of the car.
 
The 24-year-old woman then struck the pedestrian who was still on the ground.
 
Police said the pedestrian died at the scene from sustained injuries.
