73-Year-Old Glenda Williams Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Weldon

 
WELDON, CA (December 21, 2022) – Officers confirmed that a 39-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 178 on December 16.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just east of Patterson Lane. Based on a report, the victim was walking in traffic lanes on the eastbound side of the highway prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, 73-year-old Glenda Williams of Onyx was driving a 2007 Saturn also on the eastbound side at around 60 miles per hour. Subsequently, Williams struck the victim.
 
As a result, the victim died in the incident. Officials did not yet release her name, pending next of kin notification.
 
Officers said the woman was wearing dark clothing and Williams did not see her walking in the roadway. Williams continued traveling eastbound and fled the scene.
 
The following morning, CHP contacted Williams at her residence. Officials said they did not make any arrest.
 
As of now, an investigation is ongoing.
