Woman Fatally Injured after Cement Mixer Truck Accident on Pioneer Parkway

 
PRESCOTT, AZ (June 20, 2024) — A woman died in a cement mixer truck accident on Pioneer Parkway on Wednesday, June 5.
 
According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal crash took place on Pioneer Parkway near Williamson Valley Road just before noon.
 
The YCSO said a vehicle traveled north on Pioneer Parkway after getting the green light at Williamson Valley Road. Then another driver attempted to pass using the right lane, which was ending.
 
After that, the second car struck the first vehicle. As a result of the collision, the second vehicle spun into oncoming traffic. At the same time, a cement truck driver attempted to avoid the second vehicle yet could not and still slammed into it.
 
YCSO said paramedics airlifted the driver to a Phoenix hospital in critical condition. His wife, who was in the front passenger’s seat, died on the way to the hospital. Her identity was not immediately available.
 
There were no other injuries reported in the crash.
 
Deputies said impairment did not contribute as a factor. However, authorities continue to investigate the incident.
