MARYSVILLE, WA (October 10, 2023) – Officials confirmed the death of a 35-year-old woman following a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway on October 4.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at milepost 199. Based on a report, the woman was at the freeway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle hit her. It was unclear whether she was in the middle of the road or on the shoulder. Police said the driver of the vehicle then fled the scene after the crash.
 
As a result, the woman suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
