Woman Dead in Walden Pedestrian Accident on Main Street near Highway 125

 
WALDEN, CO (October 4, 2024) — An 18-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident on Main Street on Saturday, September 21.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the incident involving two pedestrians occurred near Main Street and Highway 125 shortly after 10:00 p.m.
 
CSP determined that the male 21-year-old driver of a Chevy Silverado failed to negotiate a sharp curve on Main Street, where it meets Highway 125. Then the pickup truck swerved into a bowling alley parking lot.
 
The vehicle struck two women and a parked car. Emergency responders airlifted both women, who were Walden residents, to area hospitals. One of the women died and the other sustained serious injuries.
 
The Jackson County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased woman after family notification.
 
The driver, who is from Steamboat Springs, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
 
As of this writing, there were no charges filed in the case.
 
The accident remains under investigation.
