Taxi Involved in Fatal Accident on 4th Avenue South at Washington Street in Seattle

 
SEATTLE, WA (June 6, 2024) – Officials confirmed a woman in her 70s died in an accident on 4th Avenue South on May 22.
 
The Washington State Patrol said the collision happened at Washington Street just before noon. Based on a report, the victim was a passenger inside a taxi traveling near the intersection before the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a pickup truck hit the taxi.
 
As a result, the woman suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not release her name, pending kin notification.
 
The taxi driver and another passenger were taken to the hospital in stable condition. The driver of the pickup had minor injuries.
 
Police later arrested the truck driver for vehicular homicide.
 
Police have not specified if they believe the driver was under the influence. They ask anyone with any information to contact the Traffic Collision Investigations Squad at 206-684-8923.
