ASPEN, CO (January 3, 2024) — A woman died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 82 on Saturday, December 15.
 
According to the Aspen Police Department, the incident occurred on Highway 82 near Aspen Country Inn at about 11:00 p.m.
 
The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office got a report of the incident. A deputy in the area responded and found a 33-year-old woman lying in the median of the highway. Emergency responders immediately brought her to Aspen Valley Hospital where medical officers pronounced her dead.
 
While officers investigated the wreck, a driver stopped and told officers that she was involved in the incident.
 
The coroner’s office has not yet released the identity of the deceased woman pending family notification.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the case.
