DUI Driver Involved in Crash on 5 Freeway in Seattle

 
SEATTLE, WA (August 21, 2024) – Authorities confirmed that a woman suffered critical injuries in a DUI crash on 5 Freeway on August 3.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened n at North 85th Street around 3:00 AM. Based on a report, a black Tesla struck the barrier on the left shoulder of the freeway.
 
Subsequently, it crossed multiple lanes to the right side of the road and struck a Volvo with a trailer.
 
As a result, the driver of the Tesla, a 35-year-old woman from Everett, sustained life-threatening injuries. Emergency crews took her to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. Her passenger, a 36-year-old man from Everett, was in stable condition. Neither one was wearing a seatbelt.
 
The sole driver of the Volvo, a 28-year-old man from Kent, was not hurt. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
 
Authorities reported drugs or alcohol as factors in the crash. The woman driving the Tesla is facing charges of vehicular assault and DUI.
