AUSTIN, TX (February 15, 2023) – 68-year-old Wenwu Cai died after a pedestrian crash on Balcones Club Drive on Wednesday evening, January 25.

According to authorities, the fatal crash happened around 7:45 p.m. on the 8700 block of Balcones Club Drive.

The details leading to the crash are not yet available but the crash involved a sedan southwest of Highway 183 and Anderson Mill Road near the Balcones Country Club.

Medics took Cai to a hospital but he died on February 4, police said.

The driver that struck the victim stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

This accident is the 8th fatal crash in Austin this 2023.
