Pedestrian Struck by Victor Morales on Nellis Boulevard in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (July 18, 2023) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested 55-year-old Victor Morales after a pedestrian accident on North Nellis Boulevard on July 10.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision just south of the East Washington Avenue around 2:12 AM. Based on a report, the pedestrian was walking along an unmarked crosswalk on Nellis Boulevard prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, Morales was driving a white 2019 Ford F-150 on the same road. As he ran through a green light, the pedestrian walked into the path of the truck. The truck then struck and pushed the victim into the road.
 
Subsequently, a 2007 to 2014 Cadillac Escalade ran over the victim on the ground and fled the scene.
 
As a result, the pedestrian died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Officers arrested Morales, who displayed signs of impairment. They booked him into the Clark County Detention Center for DUI.
 
An investigation is ongoing to identify and locate the Cadillac driver.
