Fatal DUI Crash on 35 Freeway in Laredo, Uriel Cardenas Arrested
LAREDO, TX (November 28, 2022) – Police arrested 28-year-old Uriel Cardenas following a fatal crash in the 5700 block of 35 Freeway on November 19.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened in the southbound lanes at approximately 2:00 AM.
Based on a report, a small two door yellow Mazda and Chevy Silverado truck crashed on the highway. Laredo Police believed that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
As a result, the crash pinned driver of the Mazda inside his vehicle. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, police arrested and charged Cardenas with DUI and reckless driving.
As of now, this crash remains under investigation.
