Tyrill Benjamin Arrested after San Antonio Hit-and-Run on O’Connor Road and Misty Ridge Drive

SAN ANTONIO, TX (January 16, 2024) — Officials arrested 33-year-old Tyrill Antonio Benjamin after a hit-and-run crash that injured another on Thursday, December 21.

According to Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar, the crash happened on O’Connor Road and Misty Ridge Drive.

Reports said a 68-year-old woman walked to work at a nearby elementary school. Then the green Dodge Charger driven by Benjamin struck her and fled the scene.

The woman sustained a broken pelvis and a broken arm. She may lose one of her eyes, Salazar said.

Through the description of multiple witnesses of the fleeing vehicle, deputies were able to track Benjamin’s vehicle on the Northeast Side. One of the vehicle’s front bumpers sustained damage, the sheriff said.

Upon questioning, Benjamin told officers that he thought he had struck a dog. However, witnesses said they saw his vehicle parked nearby and the victim lying on the street.

Authorities charged Benjamin with a collision involving serious bodily injury, a third-degree felony.
