Tyesha Tanner Identified in Fatal Rear-End Crash in Milam County

 
MILAM COUNTY, TX (September 5, 2023) – Officers identified 39-year-old Tyesha Nikole Tanner of Georgetown who died in a crash on FM 486 on August 18.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened about 3 miles north of Thorndale around 10:40 AM. Based on a report, Tanner was driving a 2012 Kia Sorento south on FM 486.
 
At that same time, a 34-year-old woman from Thorndale was driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck and approaching the Kia from behind. As Tanner stopped to wait for an oncoming vehicle to pass before making a left turn into a church parking lot, the Dodge driver failed to control speed and collided into the rear of the Kia.
 
As a result, Tanner and her 14-year-old male passenger suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
It was not clear if there were charges filed against the Dodge driver.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
