Two Killed, Two Injured in Crash on Gold Dust Avenue [Scottsdale, AZ]

DUI Fatal Crash on Gold Dust Avenue at Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale

 
SCOTTSDALE, AZ (April 21, 2023) – Officers confirmed that an adult and a child died in a crash on Gold Dust Avenue on April 7.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Scottsdale Road around 3:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, the victims were stopped for a red light at the intersection at the time of the crash. It was when a suspected drunk driver hit them and ripped their car in two.
 
As a result, the victims died in the incident.
 
Emergency crews transported two other occupants of the car to the hospital for treatment of injuries. One of the victims had a broken back, legs and ribs.
 
Family and friends set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral and medical costs.
 
Officials say alcohol and speed do appear to be a factor in this crash. As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
