Tukwila Rollover Car Crash on 5 Freeway at Southcenter Boulevard
TUKWILA, WA (October 4, 2022) – Police confirmed that two people died in a rollover car crash on 5 Freeway on September 9.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Southcenter Boulevard around 10:47 PM.
Based on a report, a vehicle was in lane one of the northbound side of the freeway. Due to unknown reasons, it lost control and rolled across all lanes of traffic. Then, it came to rest on the driver’s side in the HOV lane. Subsequently, a second vehicle struck the roof of the vehicle.
As a result, the driver of the first vehicle, a 24-year-old Tacoma man, and a 35-year-old Federal Way man died in the incident. Officials did not yet release their names.
In addition, the driver of the second vehicle, a 59-year-old Seattle man, was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment of injuries.
In the end, officials arrested the driver of the second car for investigation of vehicular homicide. They added that drugs or alcohol were involved but no other details are available.
