Fatal Car Crash on 5 Freeway at 216th Street in SeaTac
SEATAC, WA (October 4, 2022) – Police confirmed that one person died in a two-vehicle crash on 5 Freeway on September 10.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at the southbound lane near South 216th Street around 2:17 AM.
Based on a report, the 23-year-old Sequim man’s vehicle was disabled and blocked the lane one of the freeway. Subsequently, a second vehicle came and made an emergency maneuver into lane one to avoid a collision. However, it struck the rear of the victim’s car.
As a result, the man died in the incident. Officers said victim was not wearing a seat belt. The driver of the other vehicle, a 49-year-old Federal Way man, was not hurt.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
