MESA, AZ (December 18, 2023) — Two people suffered fatal injuries after a fiery crash on Highway 60 on Sunday, December 10.
 
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the incident took place on the Highway 60 exit ramp near Superstition Springs Boulevard at around 7:00 p.m.
 
According to Arizona DPS, a van collided with the barrier wall at the end of the exit ramp at a high rate of speed. As a result, the vehicle caught on fire and became engulfed in flames.
 
Reports said two individuals died in the crash. Their identities were not immediately available.
 
There were no other vehicles involved.
 
DPS said officers temporarily closed the eastbound Superstition Springs exit ramp during clearing operation and on-scene investigation.
