Two Killed in Car Crash on Highway 89 [Sinton, TX]

Senior-Citizen Couple Dead, Two Others Hospitalized after Car Accident on Highway 89 near Highway 77

 
SINTON, TX (December 4, 2023) — Two people are dead and two people suffered injuries in a car crash on Highway 89 on Saturday, December 2.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a car crashed into a truck outside of Sinton on Highway 89 near the Highway 77 entrance ramp at around 2:26 p.m.
 
The Texas DPS said a 90-year-old Llano man and his 88-year-old wife traveled southbound in a 1992 Chevrolet Caprice on Highway 77.  Then the man failed to yield to a Ford F-150 moving eastbound on Highway 89.
 
The elderly couple hit the truck. The impact then caused both vehicles to be thrown onto the grassy area next to the Highway 77 South Access Road.
 
Officials reports confirmed the elderly couple sustained fatal injuries and died in the crash.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the 32-year-old driver and her 31-year-old male passenger to a Corpus Christi hospital for treatment. Both were stable and are Beeville residents.
