COWLITZ COUNTY, WA (October 31, 2022) – Two people suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on 5 Freeway near Longview on October 16.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at milepost 36 around 1:20 AM.
 
Based on a report, troopers responded to the freeway after four vehicles collided in the area. They learned that a driver was tired and pulled over on the left shoulder and was partially blocking the left lane.
 
Subsequently, two vehicles hit that car. After that, a fourth car hit one of the other cars.
 
As a result, the driver of the first car was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the second car suffered minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
 
As of now, WSP officers are still working to determine the cause of the crash. In addition, an investigation is still ongoing.
 
As of now, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident. In addition, no other details are available.
