Injuries Sustained in Two-Car Crash on Highway 97 in Yakima County

 
YAKIMA COUNTY, WA (April 11, 2024) – Emergency crews transported two drivers to the hospital following a crash on Highway 97 on March 31.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at milepost 43, about 16 miles south of Toppenish around 3:38 PM. Based on a report, one car was driving north and another was traveling south before the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the northbound car crossed the center line and crashed into the other car.
 
As a result, the northbound driver, a 29-year-old Portland woman, and the southbound driver, a 22-year-old man from Bend, sustained injuries in the incident. Emergency crews took them to local hospitals for treatment.
 
Charges against the driver that crossed the center line were not yet clear.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
