BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 6, 2022) – Two people lost their lives in a head-on crash on California City Boulevard and Yerba Boulevard on October 1.

The California City Police Department received reports about an accident and responded at about 6:15 a.m. When the authorities arrived at the scene, they found a 2017 Chevrolet and a 2021 Toyota. According to initial reports, the vehicles crashed into each other head-on.

The impact killed both of the drivers, police said. Kern County Coroner’s Office will soon identify the victims.

Another unidentified person was rushed to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Investigators are suspecting that speed and alcohol were factors that led to the crash. Investigation will continue to give clarity to the case.
