Fatal UTV Crash at Sand Mountain Recreation Area in Churchill County

 
CHURCHILL COUNTY, NV (November 11, 2022) – Police confirmed that two children died in a UTV crash at the Sand Mountain Recreation Area on October 30.
 
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the collision happened at South Maryland Parkway shortly after 5:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, the victims were passengers in the UTV that was running at an unknown rate of speed at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, the vehicle rolled over.
 
As a result, the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the death of the two juveniles. Officials did not yet release their names, pending kin notification.
 
Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the accident. At this point, the NHP continues to investigate the case.
